– pokemon ultra sun and moon easter egg. A tribute to Satoru Iwata is hidden in the game:
If you have been particularly attentive and a little bit of a digger, you may have already seen a little easter egg of the Deceased Satoru Iwata in Pokémon Ultra-Sun and Ultra-Moon. Mr. Satoru Iwata is none other than the former CEO of Nintendo who died in 2015 and who has worked hard on multiple Nintendo franchises like Pokémon, The Legend of Zelda and Kirby.
You can find this tribute in the offices of Game Freak (the real developers of Pokemon, who always introduce a “virtual” studio to visit by the players in the game) of Ho’ohale. Once there, you only have to talk to an NPC while carrying a Pokémon transferred from the Pokémon games of the Game Boy, which are available for download on the 3DS eShop, to see the tribute. And not just any Pokemon since the Pokémons of each previous game will unlock an anecdote about the development of this game in particular. To hear the quote on Iwata, you will need a Pokemon from Pokemon silver.

Here is the quote in question if you do not have a Pokémon from the Silver version in your game:
When we were having trouble fitting all the data in for Gold and Silver, and we were really in a pinch, this amazing guy came along and made a program for us that solved all our problems. He went on to become the amazing president of a real big company soon after that, too.
This well-known anecdote refers to the involvement of Satoru Iwata in the Pokémon series: he intervened in the development process when his studio at the time, HAL Laboratory, was working on the Nintendo 64 Pokémon Stadium game. In less than a week, Satoru Iwata had decrypted and rewritten the entire Pokemon combat system to fit on the Nintendo 64, making it significantly more efficient and compact … so much so that it was later taken over by the developers of Pokémon Gold and Silver that were very appreciative of his help!
